Windswept Bonsais is a small local business, located in the Lochiel area. Nathan Stolzenhein, the Bonsai artist, started collecting his first trees in his early teens. His interest in the Japanese culture originated from his Grandmother, Yoneko Kida.

Some of the very first trees Nathan started collecting and experimenting his technique on  were from nursery stock. For thirteen years Nathan created Bonsai as a hobby while working fulltime for his father's construction business. In 2013 Nathan moved to the Bega Valley and settled in Lochiel. This has allowed his hobby and small collection to expand from 30 trees to approximately 300. As an amateur Bonsai artist Nathan's techniques continue to develop and his style is forever changing as an artist.Bonsai is a living piece of art that will forever grow.

Jas Dessmann is an artist and maker of small batch ceramics living in Tanja, on the NSW Far South Coast. Her work is contemporary, earthy and textural with an interest in form, shape and sensory textures. "I often use carving and cutting techniques throughout my work combined with minimal and deliberate mark making and line work."

Join us for this exhibition of painting, bonsai and ceramics, as part of Art Month Sapphire Coast.
